How to Take a Picture of the Screen on a Chromebook

Taking a screenshot on a Chromebook is a straightforward process that can be done in just a few simple steps. Whether you need to capture an important document, share a webpage, or simply save a funny meme, this guide will walk you through the process of taking a picture of the screen on your Chromebook.

Step 1: Open the Chrome Browser

First, make sure you are using the Chrome browser on your Chromebook. The screenshot feature is integrated into the browser, so you won’t need any additional software or apps to take a picture of your screen.

Step 2: Access the Screenshot Menu

To take a screenshot, click on the three dots located in the upper-right corner of the Chrome browser. This will open a menu with various options. From the menu, select “More tools” and then choose “Screenshot” from the dropdown list.

Step 3: Choose the Type of Screenshot

Once the Screenshot tab opens, you will see three options for taking a picture of the screen on your Chromebook: “Full page,” “Partial page,” and “Window.”

Full page: This option allows you to capture the entire webpage, even if it extends beyond the visible area of your screen.
Partial page: This option allows you to select a specific area of the webpage to capture. Simply drag the crosshair to outline the area you want to capture.
Window: This option allows you to capture a specific window on your screen. Click on the window you want to capture, and it will automatically be selected for the screenshot.

Step 4: Take the Screenshot

After choosing the type of screenshot you want to take, click on the “Capture” button. The screen will dim, indicating that the screenshot has been taken.

Step 5: Edit and Save the Screenshot

Once the screenshot is taken, you will see a toolbar with various editing options. You can crop, draw on, or highlight parts of the screenshot. When you are finished editing, click on the “Save” button to save the screenshot to your Chromebook’s local storage or choose to upload it to Google Drive.

Step 6: Access Your Screenshot

To access your saved screenshot, navigate to the location where you saved it. You can view, edit, or share the screenshot as needed.

Taking a picture of the screen on your Chromebook is a convenient and easy way to capture important information or share moments with friends and family. By following these simple steps, you’ll be able to take screenshots in no time.
